Why The Plain Looking Site??

One of the things that pops out at you when you visit my new site is how plain the pages are. Why is that you ask?

Speed and simplicity, that's why! The two things most people want to do when they are searching a photographer's site is to quickly view their portfolio and find out how much their services cost.

Go to most photographer's sites and they are Flash filled monstrosities that take forever to load and are sometimes difficult to navigate. Not to mention, Flash sites are a bit harder to update, so they tend to be static and not change much. Photographers are an artsy fartsy lot, so some feel they must make their sites all pretty. I have been to several sites that have great photography but the content takes so long to load, I leave the site. Likewise, I have found that I have spent the most time on very simple sites that have good content. Then there are site intros that people like to do. Thank goodness for the "Skip to go to Home Page" link some sites have so you can bypass the intro.

Now don't get me wrong, there are some really awesome looking sites out there. But when it comes down to it, people just want content that is easy to navigate.

So, I decided to take my site back to basics and make it as easy as possible for you to view the content you want without being bogged down by slow load speeds. Plus, it is easier for me to update so I can add new content to keep the site interesting.

I truly hope you enjoy browsing my "Ugly" site in a manner that is both easy and makes good use of your time.
